Lisa Goodwin-Allen is one of the UK's most dynamic and innovative chefs, leading the Michelin-starred restaurant Northcote since she was 23. Her exceptional culinary skills have earned her numerous accolades and frequent TV appearances, including as a regular guest on "James Martin's Saturday Morning", and as a judge and mentor on "MasterChef: The Professionals" and "Celebrity MasterChef". She is also a veteran judge on BBC1’s Great British Menu.
In 2020, Lisa stood out in the "Great British Menu Christmas Special", where her nostalgic and festive dishes won three banquet courses, the most ever in a GBM series. She also made history as the first female chef to win on the show, serving her renowned rabbit & leek turnover to Prince Charles at a National Trust banquet.
Lisa's television presence extends to Channel 4’s "Snackmasters", where she was crowned "Burger Queen" for her recreation of the Burger King Whopper. She has also featured on "James Martin’s Great British Adventure" and "Islands to Highlands", showcasing her culinary prowess.
Under Lisa's leadership, Northcote has retained its Michelin Star and earned many industry accolades. These include The Catey's Hotel Chef of the Year (2019), Craft Guild of Chefs Restaurant Chef (2011), and membership in the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts. She has also been shortlisted for the AA Chef’s Chef of the Year (2019).
Beyond the kitchen, Lisa is passionate about supporting young people and good causes. She works with charities like Blackburn Youth Zone, Children of the Mountain, and the School's Game Changer Project. During the Coronavirus lockdown in March 2020, she led efforts to donate food boxes to local charities and personally delivered them to hospitals and care facilities.
Lisa supports industry initiatives through her work with Hospitality Action and contributions to the Chefs at Home charity cookbook. As Chef Ambassador for the British Association of Shooting and Conservation (BASC) and Ambassador for Slow Food in the UK and Taste Lancashire, she promotes the hospitality industry and inspires future generations.
