Angela Hartnett OBE is one of the UK's most beloved chefs, celebrated for her sophisticated yet simple, Italy-inspired cooking. Born in Britain, Angela's passion for good, honest food and high-quality ingredients was instilled in her by her Italian grandmother and mother.
Angela's culinary journey began in esteemed kitchens such as Aubergine, Zafferano, L'Oranger, and Petrus.
Remarkably, she became head chef at Petrus within seven months, playing a key role in the restaurant earning a Michelin star. She further showcased her culinary prowess by launching Amaryllis in Scotland, Verre in Dubai, and both Menu and The Grill Rooms at The Connaught in partnership with Gordon Ramsay.
In 2012, Angela opened Hartnett Holder & Co alongside Robin Hutson and Chef Luke Holder. Her entrepreneurial spirit continued with the launch of the critically acclaimed Merchants Tavern in Shoreditch in September 2013, in collaboration with Head Chef Neil Borthwick and Canteen founders Dominic Lake and Patrick Clayton-Malone. That same year, she introduced Café Murano, a more casual sister to her flagship restaurant, Murano.
